RAWINALA SHELTERED WORKSHOP PROGRAM
The biggest question to the executor of Education for the Disabled in Indonesia is, whether a
child is able to work after finishing his/her education? This question is the primary concern of
every parent with disabled child. For those who have single disability, there are still many
possible options. But what about those who have multiple disable visual impairment, do they also
have the same possibilities?
To answer those questions, starting from the school year of 2009/2010, Rawinala opens a new
program “Sheltered Workshop”, which is a protected working environment for the MDVIs. This
program is made for those who had finished their school program. Not everybody can join this
program. Only those who meet the basic criteria, which is able to take care of themselves
independently.
In this special program, they will not be working alone. Instead, they will work in groups, or
in companion. These are some of the programs that will be developed by Rawinala:
Organic vegetables and ornamental plants gardening, using self-made organic fertilizers

Recycling and re-selling used items, such as plastic glass and bottles

Salted-eggs production

Fishery; at this moment, mujair and catfish breeding are being developed
.
Music Entertainment; providing traditional and modern group band for family gatherings or
other special events.

The requirements to support those programs are:
* Tools for pricking organic wastes
* Funds for purchasing plant and vegetable seeds
* Tools for gardening
* Sound-proofed music studio. Place is available
* Landscaping for sensory garden. Land is available
